Berlayar Creek (9 Feb 2013)
The narrow stretch of seagrasses along the eastern edge of the Berlayar Creek boardwalk is still there!
On a wet Lunar New Year Eve, Andy and I monitored this shore. Besides Spoon seagrasses, there were also two small patches of Tape seagrass in deeper water.

Chek Jawa (27 Jan 2013)
TeamSeagrass is back on shore for our first monitoring session of 2013!
We enjoyed great weather, saw wild boar, dugong feeding trails and had a chance to check up on the health of Chek Jawa. We also removed an abandoned driftnet.

Animals help pollinate and disperse seagrasses
Two recent studies reveal the role of marine creatures in pollinating seagrass flowers and dispersing their seeds!
Tiny worms and crustacea visit the flowers of Thalassia testudinum while fish, terrapins, and birds may help disperse seeds of Zostera marina. Does the same kind of thing happen on our seagrass meadows? So much more to learn and discover!

Cyrene Reef (15 Dec 2012)
A small team monitored the seagrass meadows on Cyrene during a brief break in the wet weather, just before sunset.
We quickly set up for the monitoring after a safe arrival. How are the seagrasses doing on Cyrene?
